Rapper Kafani Shot Five Times Over Alleged Bay Area Beef

Rapper Kafani Shot Five Times Over Alleged Bay Area Beef
It's always a shame when Hip Hop beef turns into true street beef, but that's what seems to have happened to Bay Area rapper Kafani. He was on his way to shoot a music video for one of his diss songs against rapper Philthy Rich in Rich's Oakland neighborhood around 11:35 at night, when he was shot five times and left for dead. Kafani is currently in critical condition at Oakland hospital, and has been through two surgeries already in attempts to save his life.
The beef sparked when Philthy Rich dissed Kafani on "Swear to God," prompting responses from DB Tha General, Messy Marv, and of course, Kafani.
Kafani was recently outed by his girlfriend for having an alleged homosexual affair.

Rocko Talks About Confronting Gucci Mane During Twitter Rant

Rocko Talks About Confronting Gucci Mane During Twitter Rant
In an interview with the Streetz 94.5 radio station in Atlanta, Rocko answered questions regarding Gucci Mane. For those who missed it, Gucci had a Twitter meltdown for several days, calling out associates, labelmates, and women he claimed to have had sex with. During the meltdown, Rocko, one of the people slandered in the tweets, began tweeting that he was right outside Gucci's spot and was trying to have a conversation with Gucci.
During the interview, Rocko confirmed that he did go out to talk to Gucci in person, and said that the two spoke at the time. However, he went on to add that he harbored no ill will towards Gucci for the tweets, and instead encouraged people to "pray for the homie" as he was going through a difficult time. A couple of weeks after the Twitter meltdown, Gucci returned to Twitter to confess to a lean addiction, saying that he would be going to rehab following a stint in jail.
For all of his wild moments, Gucci's reputation seems to hold considerable weight. Rocko did not say that Gucci had apologized to him for his comments, and in Gucci's most recent tweets, he only apologized to four people in particular, Rocko not being one of them. Despite this, Rocko seems to have moved on from the tweets and seems willing to continue to work with Gucci once he returns from jail and rehab.

Lil Boosie May Be Released From Prison in a Few Months

Lil Boosie, currently locked up on drug charges, could be seeing freedom very soon.
Jeff Weiss, the journalist who covered the Baton Rouge rapper's trial for "Rolling Stone," spoke to Boosie's attorneys who shared info regarding his release and new music. Weiss tweeted what he knows, and apparently the judge has agreed to return Boosie's hard drive containing unreleased music. He also said Boosie should be a free man in "no more than four to five months from today."
Here's to hoping Boosie's attorneys know what they're talking about.

Police officer charged in fatal shooting of unarmed man who had just survived car accident

Kerrick and Ferrell

A North Carolina police officer was charged with voluntary manslaughter on Saturday after police say he fatally shot an unarmed man who had apparently just survived a car crash in Charlotte and was looking for help.

The victim, Jonathan Ferrell, a 24-year-old former Florida A&M University football player, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene early Saturday morning.

The 27-year-old officer, Randall Kerrick, was turned himself into police late Saturday. He was released on a $50,000 bond.

"The shooting of Mr. Ferrell was excessive,” the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a statement. “Our investigation has shown that Officer Kerrick did not have a lawful right to discharge his weapon during this encounter.”

According to police, Ferrell crashed his vehicle into the woods, climbed out of his car and walked a half-mile to the nearest house. He began “banging on the door viciously,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Chief Rodney Monroe said.

"It was quite possible he was seeking assistance based on his accident," Monroe said.

But the woman who answered the door thought Ferrell was a burglar and called police shortly after 2:30 a.m. to report an attempted break-in.

Kerrick and two other responding officers surrounded Ferrell, who “immediately charged” at the police, Monroe said. One officer tried unsuccessfully to subdue Ferrell with a taser. Kerrick then fired his weapon "several times."

“He immediately charged toward the three officers, one in particular," Monroe said. "That officer in particular fired his weapon several times, striking the individual multiple times."

“It’s with heavy hearts and significant regrets it’s come to this," Monroe added. "Our hearts go out to the Ferrell family and many members of the CMPD family."

According to the Charlotte Observer, police said initially that Kerrick's actions were “appropriate and lawful.” But a subsequent investigation found the officer, who joined the police department in 2011, had "violated the law regarding voluntary manslaughter." Under North Carolina law, voluntary manslaughter is defined as killing without malice using "excessive force" in exercising "imperfect self-defense," the paper said.

Monroe said there was no evidence Ferrell threatened the woman. Alcohol did not appear a factor in the crash, he added.

The two other officers involved in the incident were placed on paid administrative leave.

Gucci Mane Deletes His Twitter Account After Major Rant

Gucci Mane Deletes His Twitter Account After Major Rant
Following his long tirade on Monday, it looks like Gucci Mane is done with Twitter. He deleted his account on Wednesday, after receiving an enormous amount of blowback for what he tweeted about Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Keyshia Cole, and others.
The night of the rant, Gucci's brother Young Throwback defended his bro, calling the bizarre tweets a result of hackers.
"Eh this gucci brother sum 1 hack brah twitter. Y'all try sabotage brah. Dat messed up let gucci b. GOD kno d truth. Hackers," tweeted Gucci's sibling.
Some feel it may have even been Gucci's former manager Coach K who did the hacking, but who knows really. It certainly could have been big Guwop himself. Regardless, the Trap God's Twitter has been put to rest.

Gucci Mane Gets Dropped From Atlantic Records

Gucci Mane Gets Dropped From Atlantic Records
Gucci Mane has been on a Twitter beef binge the past three days, calling out anyone and everyone in the music industry. It's not clear what precipitated this lengthy outburst, but it could be related to his reported split from Atlantic Records.
According to the Fader, a source told them Gucci is "not with Atlantic anymore." He also wasn't sure what caused the split, but believes it may have just "been a time thing."
In addition, Gucci's longtime manager Coach K is no longer association with big Guwop. The "Trap God" rapper dissed his manager during the rant, and several other Atlantic execs. Check out the tweets above.

Gucci & Waka Twitter Beef Gets Heated

Gucci

Waka
It seems as if the beef between Gucci and Waka has increased. With Gucci saying he is closing down Brick Squad. Seems as if Waka and other BSM members took offense. Frenchie has along with others have came to sides with Waka, claiming Gucci has stolen money from the label and paid for the attorney of Vito, The person who murdered his friend Slim Dunkin. But Gucci has his side of the story placing the blame on Waka's mother Deb Antney as stealing the money and not to even know who Vito is. Read some of his tweets here & then go to our website for more on this story.

Cleveland Kidnapper Ariel Castro Found Dead in Jail Cell

Ariel Castro, center, listens in the courtroom during the sentencing phase, Aug. 1, 2013, in Cleveland.

Ariel Castro, who was convicted of kidnapping, torturing and imprisoning three young women for over a decade in his Ohio home, committed suicide by hanging in his prison cell. He was characterized as a degenerate and a coward by the prosecutor from his case.
"These degenerate molesters are cowards," Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty said in a statement. "They con and capture vulnerable children. This man couldn't take, for even a month, a small portion of what he had dished out for more than a decade."
"Let this be a message to other child kidnappers: There will be a heavy price to pay when you are caught," he said. "You won't enjoy the captive side of the bars."
See the Evidence from the Ariel Castro Kidnapping Case
Castro, 53, died after being found hanging in his cell at Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio, Tuesday at 9:20 p.m. local time, Ohio Department of Corrections spokeswoman JoEllen Smith said.
Facility staff tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the prisoner, according to Smith. Castro was taken to Ohio State University Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 10:52 p.m.
Autopsy results showed that the death was a suicide by hanging, Franklin County coroner Dr. Jan Gorniak told ABCNews.com today.
"The autopsy findings and the ligature that I was shown, it's consistent with a bed sheet," Gorniak said of the manner in which Castro committed suicide.
She did not know provide details of how he was found.
His room was an 8 by 12 cell with a bed, urinal, sink, shower stall and writing surface, according to the Ohio Department of Corrections. Inmates are also allowed to have some personal property if they are not on any type of disciplinary probation.
"Inmate Ariel Castro was found hanging in his cell this evening at 9:20 p.m. at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient. He was housed in protective custody which means he was in a cell by himself and rounds are required every 30 minutes at staggered intervals," Smith said in a statement.
Castro was not on a suicide watch, which would have required constant observation.
"A thorough review of this incident is underway and more information can be provided as it becomes available pending the status of the investigation," the statement concluded.
A public relations company that has represented Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus said that Castro's former captives will not be commenting on the matter.
DeJesus' brother told ABC News that they are aware of Castro's death and are all doing okay so far.
Castro's attorney Jaye Schlachet told ABC News' Cleveland affiliate WEWS-TV that the defense team had requested for a forensic psychologist to evaluate Castro when he was in the county jail and the state's prison reception center.
"Local and state authorities denied our requests," Schlachet said in the statement. "There is an institutional failure beyond Ariel Castro and the citizens of Ohio are entitled to something better. It's just sad."
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson said focus should remain on the survivors.
"Our focus remains on the well-being of the survivors of Seymour Avenue," Jackson said. "It is our sincere hope that they will continue to heal and recover. I ask the community to continue to respect the privacy of the survivors so that they can move forward with their lives."

Molly: An Old Drug With Terrifying New Tricks

The Electric Zoo 2013 in New York City, linked to fatal Molly overdoses. (Photo by Daniel Zuchnik/Getty Images …Molly — the innocuous street name for a drug linked to at least three fatal overdoses in the past month — sounds more like someone’s great-aunt than an illegal substance. A better name for the designer drug, according to both drug enforcement and medical experts, would be “Russian Roulette.”
“When a buyer abuses something called Molly, there’s no way to tell what’s in it,” Rusty Payne, a spokesperson for the Drug Enforcement Agency told Yahoo Shine. “That’s the most dangerous thing about these drugs.”

More on Yahoo: Drug linked to three overdoses
The so-called party drug is believed to be responsible for two deaths and for sickening several more attendees of last week’s Electric Zoo music festival in New York, though final toxicology reports are still pending. Earlier in the week, Molly, which sells for $30 to $50 in capsule pill or powder form, was linked to another death at a concert in Boston.
“We’re seeing more people in the E.R., more people with toxic reactions and more overdoses from the drug.” Dr. H. Westley Clark, Director for the Center of Substance Abuse Treatment, told Yahoo Shine.
In its purest form, Molly (short for 'molecule'), is a crystallized and powdered form of MDMA, a mind-altering combination of research chemicals with euphoric, empathetic and heightened sensory effects which can last anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. But the unintended side effects range from depression due to the surge of serotonin the drug releases in the brain, to severe dehydration, elevated body temperature and rapid heartbeat. And that’s if the drug is pure.

More on Yahoo Shine: New synthetic drug every parent should know about
'Molly' pill capsules Born in a lab almost a century ago, road-tested in the ‘70s as a relationship elixir, and popularized in the ‘90s as the club drug Ecstasy, MDMA has had a Zelig-like history, form-fitting to the demands of the revolving counter-culture door. The latest version is marketed as a purer form of the substance, no longer cut with cheaper fillers like caffeine.  Molly is designed, at least in theory, for a demographic raised with a fear of contaminants. But experts chalk up much of that hype to clever re-branding.
As demand for the drug spikes, Payne tells Yahoo Shine, he’s seeing synthetic counterfeits, particularly Methylone, sold under the same name. Described by one Redditor as “Molly’s sketchy cousin,” Methylone is a synthetic drug in the family of bath salts. In a 2012 report published in a toxicology research journal, one woman who believed she’d ingested Molly collapsed at a concert after taking the drug, then returned to her feet before convulsing and later dying.

On Erowid, a site featuring personalized accounts of substance experimentation, one Methylone user recounts a trip that ended in an emergency room. “It’s difficult to describe how I felt, but to cut a long story short I felt like I was about to drop down dead, right then, right there,” according to the anonymous account. “I'd never been so sure in my life.“
“Over the last 3 to 5 years and even earlier, several hundred new or synthetic drugs made their way out of labs into the U.S,” explains Payne, who claims the ingredients are largely imported from China.
“Synthetic stimulants, whether it's ecstasy or bath salts, can produce psychoactive effects like agitation, insomnia, dizziness, delusions, seizures, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, impaired perception of reality and that’s just the short term. Long-term effects are still being ironed out,“ according to Payne.
The most recent statistics show that ecstasy overdoses have more than doubled since 2004, with over 20,000 reports of emergency department visits in 2011. More than 50 percent of those admitted to the hospital with MDMA in their system were between the ages of 18 and 20, leading the drug to be labeled (as it was in the‘90s) a product of club culture.
“Dehydration and temperature regulation is a major issue,” Clark said of the drug, which depletes the body’s ability to retain fluid. “If it’s a particularly hot venue and you’re dancing, you tend to sweat and become more easily dehydrated.”
Still, he says, “You don’t get a uniform reaction and that’s the key issue. It depends on a person’s physiology…What’s more, the toxic reactions are not uniform, ranging from heart damage and liver damage, to loss of consciousness.”
While drug enforcement agents have had Molly on their radar for some time, the drug has just now come into mainstream consciousness, with references everywhere from Instragram hashtags and T-shirt lines to pop music. Miley Cyrus and Madonna have been accused of referencing the drug (Cyrus in a song and Madonna at a concert), but both have denied it. For parents, even those who came of age when X signified more than just a generation, hype around the drug is alarming, if not alarmist. “I’m not saying everyone is going to die if they take ecstasy,” says Clark. But he warns, “the drug can be dangerous to some people and we don’t know which people.”
Within the electronic music community, now fingered by some as ground zero for abuse of the drug, there are efforts to raise awareness of the risks.  On Twitter, a campaign was launched to ban T-shirts that promote the drug. Meanwhile, the staff at a popular EDM music website posted the following message to fans in the wake of the latest fatalities in New York
“We have been hearing about people dying at shows for years, but as veterans of the scene, we always have this hope that we as a community have moved past inclinations to such irresponsible behavior,” reads the blog. “Sadly, this simply is not true.”
“We must never forget the double dose of reality the past seven days have brought upon our community. Three people are dead, and six have been hospitalized because of our own deficiencies as a community. Let this number be the only reason we need to force drug education and festival safety into the forefront.“
